Lakeside camping
The ‘great outdoors’ is beckoning! There’s no need to look any further. We have five lakeside camp sites across Devon, Cornwall and Exmoor offering a range of facilities. The beauty of the sites and the close proximity to the water cannot be bettered in the South West.
Roadford Lake, Upper Tamar Lake and Wimbleball Lake campsites are graded by the AA (two, two and three pennants respectively). Siblyback and Stithians offer less formal facilities, but are almost on the water’s edge: you can literally climb out of your bed and in less than a minute you could be windsurfing across the water before breakfast.
Wimbleball Lake, Exmoor
Welcome to Wimbleball Lake campsite situated within the breathtaking Exmoor National Park. An AA 3-Star graded site with panoramic views over the lake nestling amongst the Exmoor hills.
It has easy access to the tea rooms, which stocks some basic camping provisions, and children’s play area and is only a short walk from the watersports centre; offering windsurfing, sailing, rowing and kayaking - you can learn, launch your own craft or hire. If you prefer to stay on land, there are beautiful walks around the nine mile perimeter of the lake and a cycle trail. Anglers are well catered for with boat and bank fishing facilities at this renowned stocked rainbow trout location.
Wimbleball Lake can be found by following the brown signs off the A396 from Tiverton; from Dunster take the A396 to Dulverton to pick up the signs or from Taunton take the A39 to Wheddon Cross and then the B3190 towards Bampton, the lake is signposted from this road.
Facilities: 19 standard pitches + 11 premium pitches (electric hook-ups), showers, wash up, disposal and recycling facilities and hard standing pitches. Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a lead.
Roadford Lake, Devon

Welcome to Roadford Lake campsite, an AA 2-Star graded site with panoramic views over the 740 acre lake. Ideal for the watersports enthusiast with windsurfing, sailing, rowing and kayaking – you can launch your own craft or hire from the centre.
If you prefer to stay on land, there are beautiful walks and cycle trails at the lake as well as a licensed café, visitor centre and children’s play area across the water. Anglers are well catered for with boat and bank fishing facilities at this stocked brown trout location. There is an additional field available for scout groups.
Roadford Lake is just off the A30 between Launceston and Okehampton on the Devon/Cornwall border. Access is via the Angling & Watersports Centre.
Facilities: 40 standard pitches + 8 premium pitches (electric hook-ups and hard standing) Modern showers, wash up, disposal and recycling facilities, new undercover BBQ area. Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a lead.
Tamar Lakes, Cornwall
Welcome to Tamar Lakes campsite located near the North Cornish coast and the popular tourist town of Bude. An AA 2-Star graded site with panoramic views over the 81 acre lake.
Ideal for the watersports enthusiast with windsurfing, sailing, rowing and kayaking – launch your own craft or hire from the centre. If you prefer to stay dry there are beautiful walks and cycle trails at the lake as well as a café and visitor centre in the main building. Coarse anglers are well catered for with large carp, bream and rudd.
Families with young children can enjoy the play area, beach and pedaloes.
Tamar Lakes can be found by following the brown signs from Kilkhampton on the A39 - the “Atlantic Highway”.
Facilities: 28 standard pitches, modern showers, wash up and disposal and recycling facilities. Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a lead.
Siblyback Lake, Cornwall
Welcome to Siblyback Lake campsite located on the stunning Bodmin Moor. This is an informal meadow site which runs down to the water’s edge.
Ideal for the watersports enthusiast and family groups alike, with windsurfing, sailing, rowing and kayaking - you can launch your own craft or hire from the centre. If you prefer to stay on land, there are beautiful walks and a children’s play area, as well as a café serving light meals and cakes. Anglers are well catered for with boat and bank fishing facilities at one of our Premier rainbow trout fisheries.
Directions: Take the Bolventor junction off the A30 and follow the brown signs or from the A38 follow the signs from Twelvewoods roundabout at Dobwalls.
Facilities: 21 standard pitches, showers, wash up, disposal and recycling facilities, area. Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a lead.
Stithians Lake, Cornwall
Welcome to Stithians Lake campsite, near Falmouth. An ideal informal base for outdoor and watersports enthusiasts wishing to spend a weekend or holiday on the water.
At the adjacent watersports centre you can take part in windsurfing, sailing, rowing and kayaking, launch your own craft or hire. If you prefer to stay on land, there are lakeside walks and a cycle trail as well as the ‘Pirate Boat’ children’s play area. Anglers are well catered for with boat and bank fishing facilities at this stocked rainbow trout location.
Stithians Lake can be found by following brown signs from the B3297 between Redruth and Helston or following the signs from the A394 between Falmouth and Helston.
Facilities: 24 standard pitches, modern showers, wash up, disposal and recycling facilities, Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a lead.
