If you can’t bear to leave your beloved pet with friends, family or even in kennels (known as doggy prison in our household) while you swan off for a short break, why not head to a dog-friendly caravan park where you and your pet can enjoy a brilliant break.
There are pet-friendly holiday parks across the UK, so you and your dog have the choice of visiting any of your favourite coastal destinations.
Special Offer: And to say thanks for the help from Gromit, our favourite pet pooch, we’ve decided that pets go free at selected Haven and Park Resorts holiday parks, as well as Trevella Holiday Park, Turnberry Holiday Park, Sand Le Mere Holiday Park & Carnmoggas Holiday Park when you book dog-friendly accommodation before 30th June.
Caravan parks are a brilliant choice for dog-friendly holidays, with most close to sweeping beaches and beautiful countryside, which means plenty of new spaces for your pet to explore.
All of the main holiday park groups allow pets on their parks, with Haven, Park Resorts and Park Holidays charging small supplements to add one or two dogs to your booking.

Our tips for making the most of your Pet-Friendly Holiday
Holidaying with your dog is great fun if you follow these tips:
- Caravans get warm when the weather’s hot, so don’t leave your pet inside for long periods during the summer. Similarly, don’t start a long walk at the hottest time of the day
- Keep your dog on a lead when you’re on the caravan park and clear up any mess
- Explore wide and far – walking your dog is a great opportunity to see parts of the countryside that many people don’t get to see
- Most town beaches don’t allow dogs on them between 1 May and end of September, but many wild beaches have unrestricted access. Use this guide from the Kennel Club to find UK beaches that allow dogs: http://www.thekennelclub.org.uk/item/2632
- Take plenty of doggie towels and grooming brushes as your pooch will get covered in sand, tangled fur from sea water and smelly if it rains
- Plan ahead with attractions to see if your dog is allowed in. For example, most countryside National Trust properties welcome dogs in their gardens and surrounding areas, but not inside properties
- Keep an eye out for pet-friendly pubs, restaurants and tea houses
