La Réserve Holiday Park

Head south of Bordeaux on the west coast of France, and you’ll find an area called the Aquitaine, famous for the surfing paradise Biaritz, medieval towns like Bayonne and lakeside
resorts such as Mimizan and Archachon. La Réserve is located just an hours drive south of Bordeaux in an area that offers all the holiday essentials – sunshine, long sandy beaches and a relaxing retreat.

The holiday park La Réserve is itself on the edge of a lake called Lake Biscarosse, which means that it benefits from it’s own sandy beach that gently slopes into the calm waters, perfect if you have youngsters to splash about in when they are not building sandcastles!

For the more adventurous, there is a range of water sports available, directly from the park. Choose from sailing dingy’s, canoeing and windsurfing. You can hire any day or have lessons from the instructors on site.

The water activity doesn’t just centre at the lakeside beach, there’s also a fabulous swimming pool complex on park, with an indoor and outdoor pool and waterslides. This is located next to the bar, restaurant and entertainment area, perfect for entertaining all ages!

Accommodation at La Réserve Holiday Park

This holiday park offers modern and fresh two or three bedroom mobile homes that come with the following:

• fully fitted kitchen with all utensils
• lounge and dining area
• WC and shower
• one double room
• one or two twin rooms
• outdoor garden furniture (chairs, table and sunloungers) and a gas BBQ – perfect for those warm al fresco evenings!

The layout of the mobile homes varies depending on the model, some mobile homes may have a central lounge with bedrooms at either end, other homes may have the lounge at one end. Duvets and pillows are provided, please bring your own bed linen, or bed linen and towels can be purchased from reception.

Attractions near La Réserve Holiday Park

Bordeaux is best known for its wine, but it offers much more. It is filled with magnificent 18th and 19th century buildings, cathedrals, World Heritage listed monuments, a theatre and not to mention a wealth of luxury shops. You’ll definitely need more than a day to tour this fabulous city.

We recommend the tour “Bordeaux Secret des Grands Vins” – a day trip to St Emilion taking in the sights of Bordeaux including the historical centre, vineyards and a visit to a wine dealer ‘en route’. Price from around £40 per person.

Dune de Pyla

Dune du Pyla is the largest sand dune in Europe. It’s worth making the effort to climb to the top as the views are tremendous.

Arcachon

Oysters are a taste that I’ve failed to acquire but if you like them, then you have to go to the Bassin d’Arcachon (approx 40mins drive). It’s a large natural lagoon and its oysters are said to be the best in France. But happily for me Arcachon also has great beaches and good sailing.
