Caravan Parks Northumberland

Holiday Parks in NorthumberlandThe northernmost corner of England is a place of historic sites, sandy beaches and beautiful countryside landscapes, and caravan parks in Northumberland are a brilliant base from which to explore.

Hadrian’s Wall and Northumberland National Park

Perhaps the must-see attraction of Northumberland is Hadrian’s Wall, a World Heritage Site that marked the northwest frontier of the Roman Empire and runs for around 70 miles from east to west. The remains of the wall can be followed on foot, bike and by bus, and there are Roman forts and archaeological sites, plus plenty of pubs and restaurants for weary travellers!

Hadrian’s Wall lies within the stunning Northumberland National Park, which has been described as the most tranquil place in the UK. See for yourself by exploring some of the 700 miles of footpaths, exploring the landscapes and visiting the small villages set throughout.

There’s more folklore to be found on the Holy Island of Lindisfarne, an important early centre of Christianity which lies just off the coast of Northumberland and is only accessible by causeway at low tide. Today the magnificent Castle and remains of the Priory are popular visitor attraction, and the island has a reputation as the perfect place to spot wildlife, with grey seals and rare birds among its most notable sights.

Award winning beaches

The Northumberland Coast runs for around 100 miles and is a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty - the Northumberland Coast Path runs along much of the coast and offers many incredible views.

Bamburgh is an award-winning beach with clear waters and miles of lush golden sands. The imposing Bamburgh Castle soars high above the village and can be visited throughout the year, and the Grace Darling Museum digs deep into the history of the area.
