The surrounding area: Canet-Plage is situated on the Mediterranean coast, and is part of the larger town of Canet-en-Roussillon. Ten kilometres away lies the lively city of Perpignan, and further inland is the walled city of Carcassonne. We recommend a visit to the towns historic centre with its remains of the Carthaginian rule. To the north of Canet-Plage is the pleasant town of Barcarès and the quaint little harbour of Port-Barcarès. Further south, situated either side of the mouth of River Tech, you will find St Cyprien and the livelier resort of Argelès-Plage. The wide beaches of Roussillon are some of the best in France, and the children will have hours of fun playing in the sand. The Spanish border is only a few miles from here and the vibrant, cosmopolitan city of Barcelona just a couple of hours drive away.

The campsite: This spacious campsite offers you all the comfort and fun you could wish for on a family holiday. The campsite is situated on the beach, which can be reached via an underpass, to save you having to cross the road. Camping Mar Estang has its own beach club and, as a Vacansoleil guest, you can enjoy all of its facilites and activities. The swimming pool complex is a true paradise with various pools, a waterslide and two jacuzzis. It is worth going up to the top of the waterslide simply for the stunning view of the campsite and the area. For the active people among you there are many sports to keep you busy throughout the day, such as football, volleyball and tennis, and there is even a gym if you fancy a workout. The campsite has a pleasant restaurant, a comfortable bar and a disco where you can enjoy some of the organised entertainment.
