This incredible shepherd’s hut is located in a peaceful part of the Bronte countryside in North Yorkshire, near the village of Oxenhope. It’s perfect for couples looking for that romantic countryside getaway with their four-legged friend. The property is surrounded on all sides by stunning views, making it the perfect rural retreat.

Explore the glorious surrounding countryside, with some of the most popular walks situated around the reservoirs and Bronte Falls. You can also walk along the Bronte Way, visiting the Bronte Bridge and out onto the bleak moors where you will find Top Withens, the ruined farmhouse said to be the inspiration for Wuthering Heights. For those looking for a slightly slower pace, head to nearby Skipton, with its delightful castle, or to the Victorian spa town of Harrogate, boasting fabulous shops and an excellent theatre.

Facilities: This tastefully furnished hut sleeps two in an open-plan living space. Step in through the small porch area where you can kick off your muddy boots and you’ll find yourself in a cosy open-plan area with a small, but fully functional, kitchen that includes an induction hob, microwave and fridge. The comfortable double bed is located at one end of the hut with a window overlooking the stunning paddock and surrounding countryside. You’ll find a TV and DVD player so you can cosy up in front of the wood burner on colder evenings, or head out onto the private patio area for some al fresco dining in front of the chimenea in the warmer months.

Great for: An Incredible property for large groups with its own hot tub and enclosed, dog-friendly garden

This grand Edwardian property is just a stone’s throw from the popular seaside resort town of Scarborough on the North Yorkshire coast. Here, you will find a superb selection of amenities including bars, restaurants and tearooms, as well as attractions including golden stretches of sandy beach, most of which are dog-friendly, although some do have seasonal restrictions.

For the more active members of your group, you can step onto the Cleveland Way. This national trail in the historic Cleveland area of North Yorkshire runs 110 miles between the attractive market town of Hemsley, across breath taking heather moorland until it reaches the stunning coastline at Saltburn-by-the-Sea. It even runs through the famous smuggler’s village of Robin Hood’s Bay.

Facilities: With eight bedrooms, and able to accommodate up to 17 guests, Manor House really is the perfect dog-friendly cottage for those looking to spend some time with extended family or large groups of friends. The interior of the property couples modern features and appliances with gorgeous traditional features expected in an Edwardian mansion. With high ceilings and large sash windows, there is a real feel of space and light. You’ll find two stunning sitting rooms and a snug with a wood burning stove, meaning there are plenty of places to escape to and relax after a busy day exploring rural Yorkshire. The elegantly styled kitchen has everything you might need in order to entertain such a large group, including an impressive Range cooker with gas hobs and an electric oven, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer. The eight bedrooms are spread across the first and ground floors, meaning the property is suitable for all requirements, including those with mobility issues.

Step outside the property and you will find yourself on a stunning raised patio with plenty of seating for everyone, making a wonderful place for some al fresco dining during the summer. The garden is dog-friendly as it is fully enclosed, so your dogs can roam free while you have a warming soak in the private hot tub. Great for: A peaceful couple’s retreat

Situated on the outskirts of Eggleston, near the market town of Middleton-in-Teesdale, you’ll find this wonderful property – Folly Lodge. Situated in three acres of private north Yorkshire grounds, there is so much to explore in the area. Take a visit to the nationally renowned Eggleston Gardens and tea room, and enjoy the lovely Tees river walks. Just a short drive away, you will find Hamsterley Forest with a wide variety of mountain bike tracks for all skill levels, meaning the whole family can enjoy a great day out!

A few miles away, you will also find the famous Barnard Castle, which is well worth a visit. The castle is located on a high rock overlooking the River Tees and dates back to the 12th century. If water sports are on the cards, the River Tees is the perfect place to indulge in most water sport activities, whilst the nearby North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty offers an abundance of trails for walking, cycling and hiking.

Facilities: Attached to the owner’s own property, this two-bedroom annex is perfect for a small family or two couples looking to explore all the area has to offer. The spacious open-plan living area is located on the first floor, so you can take advantage of the incredible countryside views. With a cosy sitting area by a wood burning stove and a well-equipped kitchen, the property offers everything you might need to make your stay comfortable.

The large patio doors lead out onto the first-floor “tree-top” decking area – a truly wonderful place to relax and enjoy an evening drink. Guests also have access to the incredible three-acre grounds, so you can walk your dogs or let your kids explore to their hearts’ content.
