George and Elizabeth are Public’s Choice for Royal Baby Names

With William and Kate so close to the birth of their first child, Royal Baby fever has gripped the team here at BreakFree Holidays and we’re having fun guessing at baby names.

We asked you to tell us what names you would pick for a Prince and Princess – and it seems you would keep things traditional.

So far more than 415 have responded to our snap poll (launched on Thursday, 11 July) to tell us what name you would choose if the Royal Baby was a boy or a girl.

The overwhelming favourite for a new Prince is George – the name of the last King and William’s great grandfather.

For a baby Princess the public plumped for Elizabeth, closely followed by Diana and Victoria.

Modern monikers – such as Klay, Apple and Harper Seven were absent from the list, and everyday favourites such as Jack, Oliver and Amelie received little backing too.

The top five names for each sex were:

Boys

  • George 21%
  • James 15%
  • Philip 8%
  • Charles 6%
  • Henry 5%

Girls

  • Elizabeth 16%
  • Diana 13%
  • Victoria 13%
  • Charlotte 5%
  • Alexandra 4%

It’s not too late to have your say. Do you agree with the choices about or would you go for something else? Take our survey and tell us.
