Holiday parks near the Lake District in 2023

Looking for campsites and caravan parks near the Lake District?

Home to a wide range of activities and attractions, the Lake District is one of the most popular holiday destinations across the UK. Set in peaceful surroundings and naturally formed beauty you will find it hard to come by another place quite like it.

There are numerous holiday parks located in the heart of North West & Lake District, one of our favourites is Parkdean Resorts Fallbarrow. This stunning holiday park is located on the eastern shore of the Lake Windermere and is the perfect location to get access to the water’s edge. Being at the centre of the National Park is great for walkers, hikers and cyclists who wish to take full advantage of routes around Lake Windermere.

Fallbarrow accommodates a huge choice of caravans and lodges (dog friendly options are available) in a peaceful atmosphere with light entertainment which guests are welcome to take full advantage of. There’s also a newly refurbished Boathouse Bar and Restaurant which has been given a makeover for 2020 in in the past few years and a brand new jetty has been renovated for boat launching – ideal for those keen sailors!

Prime locations for visiting the Lake District

If having a central location and access to the Lake District is essential, then Fallbarrow could be the best place for you. Based near the small down of Bowness-on-Windermere be sure to know you will have no problem finding things to do. The well renowned Windermere Lake Cruise is one of the best ways to discover England’s largest lake, located only a 10 minute walk from the holiday park. If having a good central base with easy access to the lakes is what you’re looking for we would also advise checking out our other nearby holiday parks Parkdean Resorts White Cross Bay and Haven Lakeland.

Parkdean Resorts White Cross Bay is just down the road and sits directly on the shores of Lake Windemere. There is a fantastic range of caravan accommodation on offer at this park including brand new models and luxury 2 and 3 bedroom lodges. With the panorama of Lake Windemere and surrounding countryside, the complex is topped off with some amazing features including an indoor heated swimming pool, spa, gym, restaurant and bar. Visitors are mostly impressed by the high standard of accommodation and how well furnished and clean these facilities are. Haven Lakeland is the park for those who seek adventure and like anything related to water sports. There’s fun for all the family, from exploring the park on a Segway to getting creative and learning skills such as raft building. If you wish to explore the local area, at only a short drive away from the popular Lake District attractions such as the Dock Museum in Barrow-in-Furness. There’s plenty to discover in this historic nineteenth century which provides a great insight into was once a small farming village and its rapid transformation into the industrial town it become.
