With the gradual easing of some lockdown measures in several countries, wearing a facial covering is a growing practice in many public places. This is also more widely recommended by governments, and could soon become the norm.

When travelling through the port due to legislation, the wearing of facemasks is now compulsory for all passengers.

BOOK WITH CONFIDENCE - NO AMENDMENT FEES

To give you greater flexibility and peace of mind during the uncertainty caused by Coronavirus (COVID 19), you will be able to amend your travel dates without incurring an amendment fee if booked before the end of 2020. 

P&O Ferries are proud to hold the Visit Britain “We’re Good to Go” accreditation across all of their ships. This shows that they have ensured they follow the Government and industry COVID-19 guidelines and have a process in place to maintain cleanliness and social distancing.

Measures that they have on board include:

·                  100% fresh air circulation

·                  Frequent, thorough cleaning with products approved by European standards

·                  Hand sanitising stations throughout our ships

·                  Social distancing reminders and one-way systems

P&O Ferries service updates as follows:

Dover to Calais
They currently expect to be able to keep running an optimised schedule allowing for essential travel.

Please note that our foot passenger service will be temporarily suspended.

We have been advised esential travel is limited to the following.

- Going home to main residence - proof of residence required

- Essential work in France

- Medical staff

- Freight driver 

 

Hull to Zeebrugge/Hull to Rotterdam
They currently expect to be able to keep running an optimised schedule allowing for essential travel. All non-essential travel from the 18th March has been prohibited to both The Netherlands and Belgium. All journeys booked for leisure purposes will be classed as non-essential and you will need to be able to demonstrate that your travel is essential.

Please note that as a result of operational constraints, customers may temporarily need to move to a daytime sailing.

Brittany Ferries

Red Funnel

 

Red Funnel's crossings go from Southampton to East Cowes (for vehicles) and West Cowes (for foot passengers) in about an hour. Their superb ferries have cafes, TV and free wifi onboard.

Wightlink

 

Updated June 2020:

Bookings should be made for essential travel only.

We are currently running a reduced timetable with fewer sailings during this emergency. Freight and essential services for the island are being prioritised.

If you have an enquiry, wish to amend or cancel a booking and are unable to do this online please call their dedicated team on 02392 855260 where they will be able to assist you promptly.

Their team are available during the following times:

 

Mon-Fri: 8am – 6pm

Sat: 9am – 1pm

Sun: 9am – 12pm

 

If you have a booking that you would like moved to next year, please move these online to a date in December 2020 where it will be held until their booking system is open for 2021.
