Park Holidays has five superb holiday parks on Devon's south coast. You can soak up the style of the English Riviera, where the weather is warmer (there's a microclimate to heat things up) and the golden beaches stretch on and on.
Parks Holidays' five destinations are located in Dawlish Warren and along the Torbay coast, within easy reach of the holiday hotspots of Torquay, Brixham and Paignton.
Dawlish Warren is a great choice for beach breaks. The main beach holds a Blue Flag award and has golden sands backed by dunes and lakes. For peace of mind, there are lifeguards in place throughout the season. For a peaceful alternative head to Coryton Cove, where there are beach huts to hire and rock pools to search.
Paignton is a fantastic seaside town with several award-winning beaches. Paignton's pier opened in 1879 and is still one of Devon's top attractions, packed with arcades and bouncy play areas. Paignton Zoo is home to three thousand animals - highlights include the Crocodile Swamp, Monkey Heights and a wobbly jungle bridge.
Torquay has its own working harbour and busy port where visitors will find boat trips and a wide range of watersports. The town was home to crime author Agatha Christie, so seek out the dedicated trail that uncovers many of the places featured in her books. Another Torquay highlight is Living Coasts, with fascinating sea life exhibits.
Devon's coast is wonderful, but take a short drive inland to Dartmoor National Park, where there is beautiful moorland, valleys and granite tors reaching to the sky. The landscape provides endless drama to walkers.
Devon has lots of attractions to seek out. Favourites include Crealy Adventure Park where there are thrilling rides and rollercoasters, and Ashcombe Adventure Centre for archery, shooting and paintball. For exciting ways to explore the area, ride the Paignton and Dartmouth Steam Railway or take a relaxing Dartmouth River Cruise.
