At this time each year we’re encouraged to celebrate our pets – an idea we wholeheartedly support at BreakFree Holidays with our pet-friendly short breaks.
So, in the spirit of pampering pooches we thought it would be fun to come up with recommendations of pet-friendly holidays for these dog-loving celebrities.
Simon Cowell’s Yorkshire Terrier puppies Squiddly and Diddly have been pap’d by the press almost as much as his baby son Eric over the past few weeks. The music mogul loves bright lights and glitzy glamour so there’s only one place for Simon to take his doggy pals for a special break – Marton Mere in sparkling Blackpool.
Paul O’Grady’s transformation from Lily Savage to pet-loving national treasure has been made complete with his championing of Battersea Dogs Home. The TV presenter famously once sent his entire audience on a caravan holiday, so we are delighted to repay the treat with a recommendation to somewhere that’s as much fun as Paul – Golden Sands in Skegness gets our vote.
Perhaps the UK’s most famous pets are the Queen’s corgis, who have lived a life of doggy luxury – even feasting on fillet steaks and chicken prepared by their own chef and served by a footman at 5pm each day. So a holiday for our pooch-loving monarch would have to be to somewhere suitably regal – how about Thorness Bay near Cowes on the Isle of Wight, and close to Queen Victoria’s favourite holiday spot.
Paris Hilton is rumoured to have an incredible 18 pooches, so she’ll need plenty of space to keep her furry friends happy. Putting aside the fact that we don’t know of a holiday park that would accept so many barkers on one booking, we’d recommend a destination with wide open spaces and close to giant beaches for long walks – Hendra Holiday Park in Cornwall is perfect!
